How many tasks does it take to get a Full Grown pet?
From Newborn: 25 for Common, 36 for Uncommon, 54 for Rare, 107 for Ultra-Rare and 183 for Legendary, per the wiki's current table.
How many Full Grown pets make a Neon and a Mega Neon?
A Neon needs 4 Full Grown pets of the same species. A Mega Neon needs 4 Luminous (fully grown) Neons of the same species, so 16 Full Grown pets in total.
Does a Neon take fewer tasks to age?
No. The wiki says each Neon stage (Reborn, Twinkle, Sparkle, Flare, Sunshine, Luminous) takes the same tasks as the matching regular stage. The Luminous total in the table above adds one more Newborn-to-Full-Grown run on top of the 4 Full Grown inputs. That sum is our arithmetic.
Why can I not pick an age stage?
The wiki publishes the total from Newborn to Full Grown for each rarity, not the tasks for each stage in between. Rather than guess, the calculator asks how many tasks you have already done on the pet.
