How do mutation and trait multipliers combine?
Formula follows the wiki's worked examples. Not verified in game.
The biggest boost in the table below is the top mutation, Eclipse (14x), plus the 5 highest traits: 45x with Strawberry + Meowl + Skibidi + 26 + Brazil. Sleepy (0.5x) halves the finished result.
The formula in one line
Income per second = base income × (mutation multiplier + sum of the trait multipliers). Default has a mutation multiplier of 1. Sleepy is the exception: it multiplies the finished result.
Worked examples from the wiki
The wiki's Mutations page uses Ventoliero Pavonero at $65M/s base income. Recomputed with the formula above, the figures match what the wiki prints.
| Mutation | Traits | Sum | Multiplier | Income per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Default | – | 1 | 1x | $65M/s |
| Gold | – | 1.25 | 1.25x | $81.25M/s |
| Cyber | – | 11 | 11x | $715M/s |
| Default | Fire | 1 + 5 | 6x | $390M/s |
| Gold | Fire | 1.25 + 5 | 6.25x | $406.25M/s |
| Cyber | Fire | 11 + 5 | 16x | $1.04B/s |
| Default | Fire + Nyan | 1 + 5 + 5 | 11x | $715M/s |
| Gold | Fire + Nyan | 1.25 + 5 + 5 | 11.25x | $731.25M/s |
| Cyber | Fire + Nyan | 11 + 5 + 5 | 21x | $1.365B/s |
Which combination gives the biggest boost?
The top mutation is Eclipse at 14x. Each trait adds its own multiplier, so more traits means a bigger sum; the table adds the highest traits that the wiki module does not tag as upcoming. The wiki's examples show two traits, so larger stacks follow the same formula but are an extension of it.
| Traits | Trait | Multiplier | Income per second |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | – | 14x | $910M/s |
| 1 | Strawberry | 22x | $1.43B/s |
| 2 | Strawberry + Meowl | 29x | $1.885B/s |
| 3 | Strawberry + Meowl + Skibidi | 35x | $2.275B/s |
| 4 | Strawberry + Meowl + Skibidi + 26 | 40x | $2.6B/s |
| 5 | Strawberry + Meowl + Skibidi + 26 + Brazil | 45x | $2.925B/s |
Eclipse is on every row. Income is for Ventoliero Pavonero at $65M/s base. The highest trait tagged upcoming is John Pork at 6.5x, which is lower than Strawberry (8x), so it would not change the top of the table.
Sleepy: the 0.5x rule
Sleepy is the one trait below 1x. The wiki says it should be applied to the finished income, so this site multiplies the sum by 0.5 instead of adding 0.5 to it. The effect is always exactly half, however large the rest of the stack is.
| Mutation + Traits | Before Sleepy | With Sleepy | Income per second |
|---|---|---|---|
| Default + Sleepy | 1x | 0.5x | $32.5M/s |
| Cyber + Fire + Nyan + Sleepy | 21x | 10.5x | $682.5M/s |
| Eclipse + Strawberry + Meowl + Sleepy | 29x | 14.5x | $942.5M/s |
Income is for Ventoliero Pavonero at $65M/s base. The three formulas in circulation give 21x (this site, from the wiki's examples), 19x (a bonus-sum model) and 275x (everything multiplies) for Cyber + Fire + Nyan.
Questions
Do traits multiply or add?
On the wiki's worked examples they add. Cyber (11x) with Fire and Nyan (5x each) is 11 + 5 + 5 = 21x, not 275x. Other sites use other formulas, and we have not verified it in game.
Can a brainrot have more than one mutation?
The wiki and this site treat the mutation as a single slot: one mutation per brainrot, and any number of traits.
What happens with Sleepy?
Sleepy is 0.5x and the wiki says it is applied to the finished income, so the site halves the result instead of adding 0.5 to the sum. Cyber + Fire + Nyan + Sleepy becomes 21x × 0.5 = 10.5x. Adding it would give 21.5x, which the site does not use.
Can I trust these multipliers?
They are the wiki's numbers, and the formula is the only one that reproduces every figure in the wiki's own examples. The wiki's written formula and two third-party models disagree with it, and none of this is verified in game. Traits tagged upcoming in the wiki module are marked with * in the trait table.
