How much do Roblox developers make?
Over 23,500 creators were paid cash through DevEx in 2025. You keep 70% of the Robux spent in your own experience, and one Earned Robux cashes out at $0.0038. Roblox does not publish how many creators pass $10,000 or $100,000 in the sources we checked.

What a typical game earns per player
Roblox does not publish earnings per game or per player. Our calculation from its totals: 123.9 billion hours in 2025 is about 14.1 million players online at any moment on average. $1,503.1 million divided by that is about $106 per average player online per year. That is a platform-wide average. Most single games sit well away from it, and the earnings estimator turns your own average player count into a low, typical and strong range.
From 1,000 Robux spent to cash
| Step | Standard rate | Qualifying US 18+ rate |
|---|---|---|
| A player spends in your experience | 1,000 R$ | 1,000 R$ |
| You receive 70% as Earned Robux | 700 R$ | 700 R$ |
| Cash out through DevEx | $2.66 | $3.78 |
| Share of $10 if the player paid $0.01 per Robux | 26.6% | 37.8% |
Rates: $0.0038 standard, $0.0054 for Earned Robux from purchases by US players age-verified as 18+ in eligible games. The 70% is for sales inside your own experience; the 10-K says Marketplace sellers receive a minimum of 30%. Roblox's 2025 average selling price of a Robux was $0.01 (10-K); the last row is arithmetic on that average, not what every player pays. Before September 5, 2025 the standard rate was $0.0035. Fees from the payment provider and tax are not included.

Questions
What does a typical Roblox developer make in a year?
Roblox says the median creator in its DevEx program received approximately $1,500 during the 12 months ended June 30, 2026. The program had over 42,000 creators. Only creators who reached the 30,000 Earned Robux cash-out minimum are in that group, so people who never cashed out are not counted.
How many developers earn more than $10,000 or $100,000 a year?
We could not confirm a current count. The 2025 Form 10-K and the September 2026 Roblox Newsroom article, which we read on 2026-10-10, give no counts by earnings threshold. We do not use third-party numbers for this.
Is the 70% share what lands in my bank account?
No. The 70% is paid in Earned Robux, not cash. To get cash you cash out through DevEx at $0.0038 per Earned Robux ($0.0054 for qualifying US 18+ spend). Payment fees, currency conversion and tax come on top.
Is the $1,503.1 million the cash Roblox paid out?
The 10-K says creators "earned" that amount. It does not call it cash paid out, and it notes that creators do not always seek fiat payouts, since some spend Robux on ads or on the platform. Treat it as creator earnings, not DevEx cash.
What does a typical game earn per player?
Across all of Roblox it works out to about $106 a year per average player online in 2025. That is our calculation from Roblox's totals, not a figure Roblox publishes. Single games vary a lot by genre and shop design. Use the earnings estimator for a range.
