Good to know
- Roblox does not document how it rounds a share that is not a whole number. We round down, so a result may differ by 1 Robux from what Roblox pays. "I want to receive" gives the lowest price that reaches your target after rounding down.
- Roblox publishes the Marketplace share only at the multiples in the table above. Between them we draw a straight line, which matches Roblox's own hint of about 33% at 1.15×. Price floors can change; your item type's current floor is on the Creator Dashboard pricing page. The table stops at 10×, so we keep 70% above that.
- Selling an avatar item also costs an upload fee of 80 Robux (500 with an emissive mask) and a publishing advance, for example 10 Robux for classic clothing and 1,500 for a hat. The advance comes back to you out of Roblox's share of later sales. Avatar item commissions are held for 30 days.
- Roblox's games page still lists a 10% / 60% split for selling another creator's pass in your game, but the Passes docs say cross-game pass sales are disabled from May 30, 2026, so the calculator leaves that case out.
- When a community-made Limited is resold, the reseller gets 50% and its original creator 10%. The same Roblox page says only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable at this time; reselling needs the creator to allow it and Roblox Plus or Premium, and is not available for accounts in Japan. Resale earnings are not Earned Robux and cannot go through DevEx.
Robux prices in US dollars
On roblox.com, $4.99 buys 500 Robux and $199.99 buys 24,000, the best rate at about 120 Robux per dollar. Two $4.99 packs ($9.98) give the same 1,000 Robux as the $9.99 pack.
| Price | Robux | Of which extra | Robux per $1 |
|---|---|---|---|
| $2.99 | 270 | +30 | 90.3 |

| $49.99 | 5,250 | +750 | 105 |
| $99.99 | 11,000 | +1,000 | 110 |
| $199.99 | 24,000 | +1,500 | 120 |
- Prices and amounts are what roblox.com showed a logged-out visitor in the United States on Oct 12, 2026. Other countries, currencies and app stores can differ; we checked US dollars on the website only.
- Roblox Support says the web, computers and gift cards give up to 25% more Robux than before (the $4.99 pack has the full 25%), and that this is permanent pricing.
- The calculator combines the nine packs. The cheapest mix sometimes uses several small packs to save a cent or two, so the fewest-packs option is shown as well.
- Roblox Plus plans on the same page: Plus 500 $8.99 a month with 500 Robux, Plus 1000 $12.99 a month with 1,000 Robux, Plus 2000 $21.99 a month with 2,000 Robux. Plus without Robux is $4.99 a month.
Robux to dollars for creators

Questions
How much tax does Roblox take?
Roblox calls it the Marketplace Fee: 30% of the Robux price of game passes and developer products, so you receive 70%. A 100 Robux pass pays you 70 Robux. Subscriptions priced in Robux also pay 70% every month. For paid private servers Roblox's Private servers page gives no share; its docs show 70% only in the Roblox Plus private server example.
What price gives me exactly 100 Robux after tax?
143 Robux. 100 divided by 0.7 is 142.9, so round up: 143 × 0.7 = 100.1. At 142 you would get 99.4, which is under 100. For any other amount, switch the calculator to "I want to receive".
Does Roblox round the 70% down?
Roblox's docs do not say. Their examples mostly use prices where the share is a whole number. This calculator rounds down, so a result may differ by 1 Robux from what Roblox pays.
Why do avatar items pay 30% to 70%?
In the Marketplace the creator share depends on the price. At the item type's price floor it is 30%, at 2× the floor 50%, at 3× 62%, and from 6× it is 70%. Bought inside a game, the creator gets 30% and the game owner 40%; in your own game you get both, 70%.
Do Roblox Plus discounts lower what I earn?
No. Plus subscribers pay 10% less on eligible items (20% from their third month), and Roblox pays the difference. On a 100 Robux item you still get 70.
How many Robux do I get for $5 or $10?
On roblox.com on Oct 12, 2026: $4.99 buys 500 Robux, $9.99 buys 1,000 and $19.99 buys 2,000. With $10.00 the most you can get is 1,000 Robux, and two $4.99 packs ($9.98) get you there a cent cheaper than the $9.99 pack.
Is it cheaper to buy Robux on the website than in the app?
Roblox Support says buying on the web, on computers and with gift cards gives up to 25% more Robux, and that this pricing stays, it is not a limited-time promotion. On the website each pack shows a crossed-out base amount and the extra Robux. We did not check app store prices.
Can I resell a Limited for Robux?
Roblox's fees page splits a community-made Limited resale 50% to the reseller, 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate and 30% to Roblox. It needs the creator to allow reselling and Roblox Plus or Premium, and it is not available for accounts in Japan. The same page also says only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable at this time, so check the item page before you count on a resale.
Can I turn Robux back into money?
Only Earned Robux, through DevEx, from 30,000 Earned Robux. The standard rate is $0.0038 per Earned Robux; qualifying spend by age-verified US players 18+ in eligible games pays $0.0054. The DevEx calculator does the math. Bought Robux, Robux from a Roblox subscription, gift cards, transfers and resale earnings are not Earned Robux.
